Hispanic center sponsors fund-raiser
COVINGTON - The Hispanic Resource Center is hosting its first fund-raiser on Nov. 9 at The Madison here.
The honorary chairman for the 7 p.m. event is former Bengal Doug Pelfrey.
The event features a silent auction, Hispanic cuisine and the 12-piece Jaime Morales Y Son del Caribe orchestra for listening and dancing.
The mission of the Hispanic Resource Center is to foster community acceptance, understanding and integration of Hispanics into the community. Operated by Gil Esparza, an advocate for people of diverse cultures, the center helps Spanish-speaking people and the community..
